Lauren Conrad Celebrate by Lauren Conrad

Lauren Conrad throws the parties that dreams (my dreams!) are made of: lavish, flower-filled fêtes that spare no expense with breathtaking decor, even prettier food, and a thoughtful consideration to every last detail. If that’s your ideal too, then you’ll love Lauren Conrad Celebrate, the new party-planning guide and pretty picture book from the former reality-TV star, designer and author.

The book is divided into two parts: Prep and Party. “Prep” covers the who, what, when, where and why of party planning, including invitation etiquette, menus, bar and decor. “Party” features detailed descriptions and stunning photographs of 12 different fêtes: the birthday party, the housewarming, the clambake (note to self: make more friends who live near beaches), the wedding and everything in between.

This is next-level entertaining that most of us may not be able to fully achieve, but isn’t the fun in the dreaming? There are plenty of practical take-aways too: tips on small talk, hostess gifts, how to make the perfect toast, what to wear for every occasion (naturally!) and a detailed wedding planning timeline 12 months ahead of the Big Day. It would be wonderful to see more recipes — apart from the basic cocktails I counted just five (four pies and Lauren’s kitchen clambake) — perhaps Lauren Conrad Cooks is in the works?

Lauren Conrad Celebrate is a dreamy, inspiring and personal celebration of the fun to be had gathering loved ones together. Give it to the hostess with the mostest in your life and watch her delight in the possibilities.

Oh to have the talent and the time. It sounds like the life of the rich and famous, but at the same time so simple. Lucky are those who have the skill and imagination, who can create such beauty.

The fact I had to look that hashtag up probably means I’m not cool enough to be in that squad.
