Five things on a Monday

If you’re looking for something to read this summer and you haven’t already read it (or liked it so much you want to read it again), maybe you’d like to pick up a copy of The Light Between Oceans by M. L. Stedman. The publisher is hosting a read-a-long starting July 8 in advance of the movie version coming out in September. (They sent me a copy of the book to review and tell you about.) I can’t wait to get into it, but of course I will. Okay I did read the first couple of pages. But I promise I’ll wait on the rest and we can read along together. Here’s four other things from the past little while.

five things june 27

1. Corn and squash succotash from the latest issue of Today’s Parent magazine. Love this mix of veggies and fresh basil. Will you try it?

2. I’ve got big plans for these little guys. (And a major crush on DAVIDsTEA’s cotton candy flavour.)

3. Makeup haul from essence and The Face Shop — just some of the winnings from Faulhaber Communications‘ recent 15th anniversary contest.

4. And speaking of contests, if you love books hop on over to this post on my Instagram account to enter to win this Read It and Drink trio from Juniper Books. Makes a great gift, especially if you’ve got a wedding to attend this summer. (And the giveaway is open worldwide!)

Have a great week, everybody. Will you read-a-long with me? What are you reading this summer?

I haven’t a clue what I will be reading this summer. I actuallly just reread Me Before You by Jojo Moyes, and thoroughly enjoyed it once again.

What about the sequel, After You? It paled a little compared to Me Before You (and wasn’t nearly as heart-wrenching) but I think you’d enjoy it. Lou’s mother’s late blossoming (and her husband’s struggle with it) is great comic relief.

        I am curious about it.

  2. Phyllis Anderson

Reading The Lord of the Rings series as my summer reading project. Will take a break and read along with you. The Light Between Oceans. Happy to read it again. Loved it.☺
