Five things + A giveaway!

I’ve been trying to keep my face to the sun this week but it hasn’t been easy. Jamesy’s been so sick and I’m stressed to the hilt. (It’s been two weeks since his autoimmune disease flared up and it’ll likely be another two before he’s feeling better.) But I’ve got a tonne of things I want to share with you right up until Christmas, so I’m going to try my best to stay in touch. Here’s Benny this afternoon in the blanket of leaves that is our backyard, plus four things we’ve tried this week.

1.  Seriously good challah buns from Uri Scheft’s Breaking Breads: A New World of Israeli Baking. Watch for a chance to win a copy in my next post.

2. I did my first at-home gel manicure this week with Bio Seaweed Gel’s UNITY all-in-one gel. This colour’s #167 (Sapphire). Yay or nay? Find out later this week on the blog (okay okay I love it! Can’t stop looking at my nails!) plus a giveaway.

3. I shouldn’t have been surprised since it’s all-natural and everything, but Thirsty Buddha Coconut Water with Watermelon is like sunshine in a glass. And gluten free, vegan and non-GMO. You won’t find it on the Buddha Brands Co site yet (it’s a new product), but Loblaws, Metro and Sobeys carry it.

4. James made good work of Italpasta Macaroni & Cheese earlier today — the first thing he’s eaten in days. I was so glad his appetite came back that I probably would have given him just about anything he asked for (well, within reason — nothing that would upset his stomach obvs) but the mac & cheese has no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives and it’s made with 100% Canadian wheat and Canadian cheddar, so I feel good about that.

GIVEAWAY!

I think you’d like the mac & cheese too, so I’ve got an Italpasta prize pack for one lucky try small things reader (which also includes a few other things like a cozy throw). To enter to win, tell me something you tried last week (of course it can be a small thing! I’m all about trying small things!) or that you plan to try this one.

For an additional entry, follow try small things on Facebook and share this post, then tell me you did so and your name on Facebook in the comments below.

For a third entry, follow try small things on Instagram and tell me your Instagram handle in the comments below.

Mac & Cheese and more: #Win a @ForPastaLovers prize pack from @trysmallthings CAN 12/05 http://bit.ly/Italpasta #Italpasta

The giveaway is open to Canadian residents 18+ and ends at 11:59 p.m. EST on December 5, 2016. The potential winner must respond to prize notification within 48 hours, including the correct answer to a skill-testing question, otherwise another winner will be selected.

Good luck, everybody! Try to keep your face to the sun.

Update December 7, 2016: Congratulations Tina L!

Breaking Breads, the Bio Seaweed Gel, the Thirsty Buddha coconut water and the Italpasta were all sent to me free-of-charge for consideration, but all opinions are my own.
