Trimming my Christmas plant + A giveaway!

Well we’re a week out from Christmas and I don’t feel ready, but I think it’s more that I’ve got blog posts I want to write and share before the holidays than anything else. We cleaned and decorated before Lily’s Christmas party on the weekend (the kids loved the tree-shaped brownies and the Christmas bingo) and most of the shopping is done. The wrapping and groceries I can do in a few days when my mom comes up to visit and help out. The only big thing left to do — besides writing Christmas cards and mailing a few packages, which are both gnawing at me — is get the tree.

You might think we already have it from these pictures, but this beauty is really my Christmas plant. (A giant and glittering Norfolk Island Pine that my friend Cathy scoured the city to find.) I bought these Foxy Originals earrings to give to friends so they’re not staying, but I wanted to show how cute they look hanging from the branches and give you another gift idea in case you’ve still got some shopping to do. Each of the little matchboxes has a loop of ribbon on the back so you can hang them from the tree.

I ordered directly from Foxy (this pair is available in silver and gold), but I just checked Indigo and they’ve got the Merry & Bright online as well.

If you’ve been following my blog for a while you’ve seen quite a few posts with Foxy. The company is based in Toronto and all of the jewellery is made in Canada and lead-free.
