I received this year’s Lookfantastic Beauty Egg in eggs-change for an honest review. This post also appears on A Year of Boxes.
Lookfantastic puts out special editions of their beauty boxes throughout the year including this egg-stra special one for Easter that landed on my doorstep earlier this month. The Lookfantastic Beauty Egg features $290 worth of products for $80 CAD — currently down $20 from the original $100 price. Is it all it’s cracked up to be? Omelettin’ you know I haven’t tried everything inside but we can eggs-amine it together. Shell we?

Anything “luxury” requires an eggs-quisite presentation. The pale pink hat box is definitely over-easy on the eyes but the product guide looks like it might have been a bit of a scramble. Ruffles my feathers a bit to see a flimsy-papered pamphlet instead of the usual cardstock — just doesn’t look and feel as high-end as it ought for the price.

The egg itself is quite marble-ous and my little chick clucked in appreciation as she pulled it from the box. We’ll be reusing it next Easter for decor or gifting. Would you like to see this grade-A egg feather your nest?

Chantecaille Lip Tint Hydrating Balm in Beach Rose
Crafted in Italy with the highest quality pure botanicals, this creamy balm is formulated with rose and cherry fruit extracts, giving the lips instant, long-lasting comfort, and smooth, gliding moisture. (.03 oz $52.50)
A beautiful colour akin to a chicken’s comb, this lippie feels luxe and looks ravishing too.

Erno Laszlo AHA Resurfacing Sleep Serum
Formulated for all skin types, this 15% AHA blend of lactic, glycoloic and citric acids, plus actives from wild plum and goji berry is proven to resurface dull skin, for a smoother and brighter complexion. (1 fl oz $133)
I’ve been eggs-ercising some restraint with the skincare because I’ve been trying so many different products lately but I’m egg-cited to eventually see how this works. This serum is worth more than the price of the box alone.

Molton Brown Firey Pink Pepper Body Wash
Blending notes of fiery pink pepper, tangerine and elemi oil with ginger, this antioxidant-rich shower gel forms a luxurious lather on the skin to defend against free radical damage, whilst enveloping the body in a spicy, stimulating aroma. (1 oz $5)
Molton Brown makes wonderful body wash and this one has me doing the chicken dance in the shower. The spicy notes remind me of men’s cologne, something that handsome Liam Hens-worth might wear. But what the devil(lled egg)! It’s one-third the size we’ve seen in other monthly beauty boxes.

Elizabeth Arden Advanced Ceramide Capsules Daily Youth Restoring Serum
These fragrance- and preservative-free, anti-aging capsules deliver a concentrated dosage of bio-engineered, skin-identical ceramides, helping repair and strengthen the skin while boosting collagen renewal, minimizing fine lines and plump the skin. (7 capsules $13.33)
Interesting to see two serums in one box (er, egg). Is that lucky like a double yolk? I can’t say as I haven’t tried them yet. But I like the promise.

111Skin Rose Gold Radiance Booster
Inspired by the brand’s popular Rose Gold Mask, this booster is formulated with Rosa Damascena extract, pure gold, and niacinamide to enhance the natural radiance of skin for a coveted, dewy, radiant complexion. (0.3 oz $85)
Lookfantastic’s beauty boxes tend to include more skincare than cosmetics so I’m not surprised to see another concoction for the complexion in the mix but I would have preferred another makeup item. That said, this one sounds wonderful and I’m definitely ready for my summer glow-up. Have you tried 111Skin’s Rose Gold Radiance Booster?
(What, no yolks from the comedi-hen?)

Patchology Moodpatch Happy Place Eye Gels
Soothing calendula acts as an anti-inflammatory, while antioxidant evening primrose extract detoxes the undereye area, leaving skin smooth and renewed after chilling out with these eye gel masks! (1 pair $4)
Lovely and cool right out of the package, eye think these eggs-ellent little wonders could be the cure for what quails you. The package says “formulated with natural petals and citrus and floral aromatherapy for creativity, positive energy and flying dreams.” Doesn’t that sound glorious? Like poultry in motion. This chick’s been feeling cooped up (who hasn’t?!) and the light floral scent took me away for 10 minutes without even leaving the house. Just the kind of effortless boost you might want when you’re due for a little self-care but too eggs-hausted to do much about it.

Lookfantastic laid a golden goose with this year’s Beauty Egg. One egg is un oeuf to bring me out of the winter doldrums and into spring’s cheer.
What eggs-actly are you looking for in a special edition box, beauty or otherwise? Lay it out for me! 🐣

YOU ARE THE PUN QUEEN !!!
Chuckled all the way through reading the reviews. And re-read them just for the continued smiles they gave me. Bravo! Not even goin to try to compete with your great wit.
The products do all sound luxurious and for $133.00 per oz, that serum certainly needs to provide pleasant dreams in la-la land and have you waking up feeling like a re-born beauty.
Not surprisingly your photo are so so pretty… and have duly noted the funky variety of nail polish colors. FUN
I’m so glad I didn’t drive you away! 🤣🤣🤣 (Of course the pun queen can’t think of a pun right now. But something great will come to me in the middle of the night!) ❤️❤️
Thanks @TrySmallPuns for your eggselent presentation of these wonderful products. The Molton Brown Pink Peppercorn is my fave London import. My bottle is empty! I eggknowledge your eggceptional eggquisition of this beautiful egg and its eggsquisite ingredients 🥚.
We are birds of a feather, C Chick! 😘❤️🐣
