I received the Mother’s Day Box in exchange for an honest review.
If the best gifts make us feel seen and understood I think a lot of moms wanting some pampering this Mother’s Day will feel very cared for with the latest Hygge in a Box. The Mother’s Day edition is all about taking time for yourself and enjoying a special selection of lovely, luxurious products from small Canadian businesses and makers.
“It’s been a long year and me-time is just what the doctor has ordered for you so we suggest that you set aside some time for yourself today (and everyday) to practice some well deserved self-love and of course as many hygge filled moments as possible!” — Jill and Lisa, founders of Hygge in a Box

Like the seasonal boxes, the presentation is beautiful and obviously assembled with care. The box and packing materials are eco-friendly and recyclable and ensure that all of the contents arrive in pristine condition.

Each box includes a product card that offers some hygge tips on one side and describes the contents on the other. You’ll also find exclusive maker promos and a discount for quarterly subscriptions.
The second card is a recipe for Lemon Poppy Seed Bundt Cake. π Fun facts: Hygge in a Box founders Jill and Lisa are sisters and the recipe is their mom’s.

White Strawberry Tea New Moon Tea believes that good tea should come from the land around us, just as our food does. They source only the highest quality, premium organic herbs with local farmers being their primary focus. The scent of ripe, pluckable strawberries is one of the surest signs of summer, so this fruitful feast of white tea, rosehips and safflowers with a hint of strawberry is a tasty take on the season! Each bag holds about 25 to 30 cups depending on how strong you like your brew. New Moon Tea is located in Nakusp, BC.
Lemon Herbes de Provence Cookies Real Treat is based in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, in Cochrane, AB. Real Treat believes supporting sustainable organic agriculture is one of the best ways to ensure strong bee populations, healthy ecosystems, and protect the health of others. You will never find artificial flavours, preservatives, or palm oil in any of their cookies. These cookies pair beautifully with your favourite tea, and are right at home on a cheese board enjoyed with a crisp white wine.
I love tea and strawberry-flavoured everything and this blend sounds wonderful. I thought I’d make my first pot of it on Mother’s Day but after eating the cookies I don’t want to wait. MMMMM the cookies! π Buttery melt-in-your-mouth goodness and that lovely intermingling of the lemon and the herbes de provence. Like spring in every bite and so special and fancy. Just how I want to feel on Mother’s Day — special and fancy. (And seen and understood.)

Tangerine Candies Candylabs is a Montreal, QC candy maker who brings fun and ingenuity to what they do. These little tangerines were just too cute to not include in this box. They are handcrafted from scratch with quality and allergy friendly ingredients and delicately packaged with love. They are vegan, nut free, peanut free and dairy free. The texture of each candy is extremely crunchy and melt evenly in your mouth. One small piece is flavorful enough to take your tongue on an amazing joy ride. Bet you can’t eat just one.
These tasty little wonders are like works of art and bursting with flavour. I’d gifted some in the past (who wouldn’t feel special receiving these?) but never tried them myself. Look how cute they all are!

Grapefruit & Garden Candle In early 2019, the husband and wife team behind Misiyo decided to take their love of candles and their heart for Rwanda and make something of it. They developed their own wax blend for a luxurious, clean and eco-conscious burn. Candles are made with this blend of local beeswax and pure coconut wax, scented with either pure essential oil blends or fine fragrance oils and poured into reusable jars & tins at their country home studio just outside of Edmonton, AB. Every candle gives health insurance to someone in Rwanda. This 6 oz candle supports someone for two months. Check out their website for more information on this amazing initiative.
Lighting candles always feels cozy and special and this one is comforting and heartwarming too. Jill and Lisa often include products from companies that give part of their proceeds to needy causes and organizations and it makes the items feel that much more meaningful, like conduits for change.

Luxurious Foaming Hand Soap (above) and Hand/Body Cream (below) Since the inception of Pure Anada, the founder’s goal has been to create a natural, safer alternative to traditional mainstream cosmetics. She loves the beauty of nature, and loves the challenge of assembling luxurious, vegan and organic ingredients into products for all to enjoy. Based in Winkler, MB, all products are handcrafted in the Canadian Prairies using fresh, wholesome ingredients. Enjoy the deeply hydrating and soothing feel of the foaming hand wash as well as the hand and body cream.
A pot of Pure Anada’s strawberry kiwi lip scrub came in a beauty box a few years ago and it was lovely so I was delighted to see two more of their products. Both smell wonderful and are very much needed!

Lemongrass Verbena Bath Dust Enjoy the combination of a bath bomb and bath salt. This bath dust fizzes like a bath bomb but it’s relaxing like bath salts. Using only natural ingredients, it will leave you feeling soft and moisturized. Sprinkle the desired amount of bath dust in your bath water. Enjoy the unique relaxation. Amiyra Paquette launched Camria Beauty in June of 2020 with the intent to create products that others will feel comfortable putting on their body, that will nourish and promote healthy glowing skin. Camria Beauty’s name was created by combining her own two daughter’s names Camilla & Arianna. Based in Ajax, ON.
And a little bit of magic for the tub. (Well magic would be no one bothering me while I’m in the tub, but this might be the next best thing.) Relaxing βοΈ moisturizing βοΈ and the lemongrass verbena sounds refreshing βοΈ. (And big thanks to Jill and Lisa for including another product made with all-natural ingredients.)

Mini Dried Floral Bouquet Hygge Space was created by Vancouver, BC based sisters-in-law, who have backgrounds in education and have a shared passion for hygge. Amongst them, they have five busy boys who really keep them on their toes. The inspiration for starting Hygge Space came from their passion for creating hyggelig moments with their family and friends by making everyday events extra special. This everlasting vase is made with beautiful preserved florals that can last for several months to years if they are well taken care of. Each bouquet is individually handmade and one of a kind, no two bouquets will be exactly the same. So pretty!
I can’t tell you how much this sweet little bouquet and vase makes me smile. The colours are so pretty together and the small footprint is perfect to cheer up a windowsill, beside table, vanity or breakfast tray.

Such a lovely gift!
