Meet the makers: Q&A with Sweet Reads Box founders Kerrie and Mark + April’s reveal + A giveaway!

I received April’s Sweet Reads Box for free in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own and from the heart.

This month’s Sweet Reads Box reveal is a little later than usual but I think it’s worth the wait. In addition to a peek behind the scenes with founders Kerrie and Mark, I’ve got a giveaway for the June box! If you’ve been following along you’ll know the boxes sell out quickly so while this one here has already been all snapped up, Kerrie and Mark have set a June one aside for one of you. They’ve also got a discount on right now for 15% off three- and six-month subscriptions with the code LOVEMOMS so if you’ve been thinking of trying it, now’s a great time! And if it’s the first you’re hearing of it, Sweet Reads Box is a Canadian book subscription service that comes with a novel and five or six related treats (including something to eat and drink, which always goes over well around here). You can see all my past reviews here. Now let’s get to the April box!  Meet the makers: Q&A with Sweet Reads Box founders Kerrie and Mark + April’s reveal + A giveaway!

Happy mail: What’s inside the March Sweet Reads Box

I received the March Sweet Reads Box for free to review but all opinions are still my own.

I’ve been talking about Sweet Reads Box here since it launched last September and I feel like it’s high time we got to know a little something about the Toronto-area couple who started it and some of the behind-the-scenes work that goes into putting the boxes together each month. (If it’s the first you’re hearing of it, Sweet Reads Box is a monthly subscription box service that includes a novel and four or five treats tied to the story and its characters.) I’ll be chatting with founders Kerrie and Mark in a couple of weeks and I’d love to hear what you’re curious about. What questions would you like me to ask? While you’re thinking about it, let’s take a look at what’s inside the March box.  Happy mail: What’s inside the March Sweet Reads Box

A Canadian subscription box for book lovers: September’s Sweet Reads Box + A giveaway!

I remember driving to a party years ago for my hubby’s colleagues and stressing about who I could talk to and what on earth could we have in common. While most of the guests congregated in the kitchen, I spent the first hour or so (or maybe it was a half hour, but it felt like forever) alone in the front room petting the dog. And ‘tho he was pretty good company, I felt pretty lame. Eventually a few people wandered in and stopped talking shop and instead launched into a spirited debate about the merits of different fonts. Reader, I don’t think I’d ever felt so relieved. Finally a conversation I could get in on! I put a tentative toe into the water with a comment or two, and soon found myself in the warm bosom (ha!) of a few kindred spirits. Unfortunately they tired of the topic before me and we couldn’t seem to connect on anything else so it was back to the dog but it was good for a while there — really good! Of course I still overanalyzed everything for the next couple of days (honestly it’s years later and I still worry what they must have thought of me), but I lived to go to other parties and even managed to find a few more kindred spirits. I’m telling you this because I know there’s a lot of you out there who hate small talk and large groups (and maybe even leaving the house, lol) and yet really want to connect. Finding kindred spirits in some of you has been one of the best things that has come from try small things. I feel like I found my people! And since a lot of my people are book people, I know you’re going to love the wonderful surprise that came in the mail for me this week, and could for you too.  A Canadian subscription box for book lovers: September’s Sweet Reads Box + A giveaway!

Stick-er with me, Valentine + A giveaway

“Where are you, my little object of art? I am here to collect you.” — Pepe Le Pew • If you’ve been reading try small things for a while, you might remember my crush on Pipsticks, the sticker club that delivers the most delightful little packages each month to subscribers worldwide (I wrote about it here). Well I’m still stuck on Pipsticks, and it’s even dreamier than before! “Is it possible to be too attractive?” Pepe would ask. Mais non! Here’s why.  Stick-er with me, Valentine + A giveaway
