“I love when my kids tell me they’re bored. As if the lady standing in front of a sink of dirty dishes is where you go to get ideas about how to have a good time.”
Anyone else feel like they’ve never had more dirty dishes in their life? Even with a dishwasher it’s neverending. OMG if we didn’t have a dishwasher! We’ve already had to lay off the pool boy for the summer, but to lose Bernice! 😂😂 Okay we don’t have a pool boy or a Bernice. Or a pool for that matter. What we do have is a mom 🙋♀️ (and a dad, but details LOL) who could use a break. My idea of a good time is some quiet with a book, a tea, a treat and some other bookish goodies to feather my nest or just make me smile. So basically May’s Sweet Reads Box. I received April’s Sweet Reads Box in exchange for an honest review. This post also appears on A Year of Boxes.
How are you doing? Up and down? Me too. But this weekend was mostly up. We had really nice weather Saturday and it felt great to sit on the front porch with a book and get some sun and fresh air. And yesterday my little guy helped me with some baking, which was super satisfying. There was lots of bickering in between and I didn’t get anything else done but it felt like a bit of a break. Today I’ve got April’s Sweet Reads Box aka “me time delivered” aka the Canadian subscription service that delivers a new novel, something to eat and drink and a few treats tied to the story every month. Three-, six- and 12-month subscriptions are available and you can purchase single boxes to gift or try. Let’s see what’s inside this one. Continue reading Inside April’s Sweet Reads Box
I received the Spring Thriller Box in exchange for an honest review. This post also appears on A Year of Boxes.
“It’s as much fun to scare as be scared.” — Vincent Price
The snow on our back deck disappeared in the rain last week but there’s still a chill in the air. I’m wearing my cozy cat slippers, sipping a mug of hot tea and tempted to get a blanket but that might put me to sleep. Thank you for taking a few minutes to join me. I hope this finds you cozy wherever you are. As promised, today’s post is a look at the latest limited edition from Sweet Reads Box, the Spring Thriller Box. Like the monthly boxes, this one offered a new novel, something to eat and drink and some bookish treats tied to the story — in this case a thriller, perfect for a chilly day.

I received the March Sweet Reads Box in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own. This post also appears on A Year of Boxes.
Anyone else feel like March was 8,000 days long? 🙋♀️ Oy vey! I’m doing my best to put one foot in front of the other but a lot of days I feel like I’m stuck in molasses. Hence my spotty posts. Please bear with me, dear readers. Lots of good stuff coming. (Psst: I’m supporting some of my favourite small businesses with some purchases to share with you including a Sweet Reads Box giveaway so watch for that very soon.) Today I’ve got the March box and after that, the latest limited edition. If it’s new to you or you’ve heard of it but you’re not sure what it’s all about, Sweet Reads Box is a monthly subscription box service that’s “me time delivered” with a new novel, something to eat and drink, and a few other products tied to the story or theme.
