“I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of any thing than of a book!” — Jane Austen
Hello hello! How’s your summer reading going? I’ve been up late the past few nights with this book and ah, so fun! It’s been a while since I got lost in a novel (too tired/distracted/restless, all the things) and I’ve really missed it. Jane Austen was right — reading is the shiz! One of my favourite ways to enjoy some “me time”. Which brings us to June’s Sweet Reads Box aka “me time” delivered. The monthly subscription service includes a new novel + something to eat and drink + some bookish goodies tied to the story and June’s is perfect for Jane Austen fans and the Jane-curious. Are we excited to see inside? Continue reading Sweet Reads Box June 2020

How are you doing? Up and down? Me too. But this weekend was mostly up. We had really nice weather Saturday and it felt great to sit on the front porch with a book and get some sun and fresh air. And yesterday my little guy helped me with some baking, which was super satisfying. There was lots of bickering in between and I didn’t get anything else done but it felt like a bit of a break. Maybe because I was able to carve out more “me time” than during the week. If reading this is part of your “me time” thank you for spending it with me. Today I’ve got April’s Sweet Reads Box aka “me time delivered” aka the Canadian subscription service that delivers a new novel, something to eat and drink and a few treats tied to the story every month. Three-, six- and 12-month subscriptions are available and you can purchase single boxes to gift or try. Let’s see what’s inside this one. Continue reading Inside April’s Sweet Reads Box

“It’s as much fun to scare as be scared.” — Vincent Price
The snow on our back deck disappeared in the rain last week but there’s still a chill in the air. I’m wearing my cozy cat slippers, sipping a mug of hot tea and tempted to get a blanket but that might put me to sleep. Thank you for taking a few minutes to join me. I hope this finds you cozy wherever you are. As promised, today’s post is a look at the latest limited edition from Sweet Reads Box, the Spring Thriller Box. Like the monthly boxes, this one offered a new novel, something to eat and drink and some bookish treats tied to the story — in this case a thriller, perfect for a chilly day.
