Well the Christmas lights turned into a project this weekend but we finally got them on the tree (not this tree, our big tree) and with the scent of fresh pine in the air and the snow outside the windows I can almost hear the tap-tapping of Santa’s reindeer on the roof. Christmas is just a few days off and I have a to-do list as long as my arm but I’m revelling in the cozy hygge moments of the season. Well we’ve had a lot of togetherness over the past few months and it hasn’t all been hygge (😬😬), but now that summer is winding down and school is on the horizon I feel like we’ve been at each other less and enjoying each other more. Making lasting memories trying small, simple things in all of a few minutes or an afternoon — making beeswax candles, building our first birdhouse, playing tic-tac-toe.
