Some of the small things I’ve been trying lately (including these jumbo bottles of Eva NYC shampoo and conditioner) and a chance to try one along with me.
1. We’ve been trying a few different things for back-to-school lunches, like this easy, cheesy one-pot mac and cheese from Today’s Parent. (It passed.)
2. She took my spot! Some of Fall’s new releases (packed with recipes and DIYs I can’t wait to try): Today Will Be Different, Purely Pumpkin: More Than 100 Seasonal Recipes to Share, Savor and Warm Your Kitchen, Decorate for a Party: Stylish and Simple Ideas for Meaningful Gatherings, The Seasoned Life: Food, Family, Faith and the Joy of Eating Well, and Simple: The Easiest Cookbook in the World.
3. I made soap yesterday for the first time and guys, it was so fun! I followed this tutorial from A Beautiful Mess and used my Thursday Plantation lavender oil for the scent.
4. Sampling the strawberry, chocolate and vanilla gelato at the new Pure Gelato location in the Glebe. (We prefer the gelato at Stella Luna, but it’s a cheery spot.)
5. I’ve been using Eva NYC’s Clean It Up shampoo and Soften Up conditioner for a few days (Eva NYC sent me some to try to celebrate their Canadian launch at Costco) and love how soft and light my hair feels. The keravis protein in it is supposed to work wonders for strengthening hair (mine has all kinds of breakage around my ponytail) and it’s got argan oil to moisturize and detangle. I can’t speak to the strengthening since I’ve only just started using it, but my hair is a lot easier to comb through wet than it has been in a long time. (Saving me from dousing it with a detangling spray like I always have to do.) Would you like to try it? Here’s your chance!
