I received December’s Glossybox in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own. This post also appears on A Year of Boxes.
Sometimes as a kid when I visited my dad he’d give me money to go to the corner store across the street and pick out a treat. I often went with the sure bets — Twizzlers, Bottlecaps, maybe some sour keys or Swedish fish, and other times I’d buy one of those surprise bags that came with mixed candy and a little toy or two. Naturally there was a risk you’d get something you didn’t like, but that was part of the thrill. Just like subscription boxes. Some are a bigger gamble, but Glossybox is a pretty safe bet. Every month it delivers five deluxe or full-size beauty products from around the world ranging from trendy to high-end. For $21 USD you get about $60 in value.
Glossybox offers four subscription options (all prices in USD):
- monthly ($21/month, billed monthly)
- 3-month ($58.50, paid upfront)
- 6-month ($111, paid upfront)
- 12-month ($210, paid upfront)
Shipping in the US is free; shipping to Canada is $5/box + any duties and customs fees.
Subscribers can complete a beauty profile to help ensure the box matches their needs.
Like November’s box, December’s box was missing the product card. You can find it on the Glossybox site so I wouldn’t say it’s a huge deal (I’ve included excerpts from that below) but certainly not convenient. The box also included the same discounts as November’s box: one for $100 off a case of Naked Wines priced at $160 or more (good for US customers only) and a $80 gift card for new Hello Fresh customers (applicable in Canada and the US).

I recently received a pair of lashes in another box and haven’t tried them yet so it’ll be a while before I get to these. Where am I going to wear them? To the grocery store? Spin class? Love LOVE this lip tint. The colour, the formula, that beautiful rose gold cap. So pretty.

Glossybox is one of my favourite subscription boxes for the variety of high-quality products, generous sizes and fantastic value. December’s box adds up to $85.99. For $21, it’s hard to beat.

I am a mess when it comes to applying false eyelashes. I love the look but fail on the execution, sadly.
You and me both! I don’t know how people do it. Must just get easier with practice. (But my hands make me a real Shakey McShakerson so maybe I’ll always be crap at it, ha ha.)
Wow, what a nice package of goodies….
1) I have worn false eyelashes in my theatre world and the do add glamour and you do see people with eye lashes that get to you before they do and I think a lot of gals are doing the professionally glued on ones…. so why not for spin, the grocery store or chicken as la king?
2) I hear that too much glow enhances the wrinkles but doesn’t mean that I don’t love the colours in the Glow Getter.
3) the lip tint looks divine.
4) every ones nails need TLC especially in the winter – so another winner there too.
5) and lastly, we all need a new soft and pretty brush to help us look soft and pretty.
